Founded in 2016 by Fraterne, Irebe<\/strong> is inspired by the pioneering spirit of his grandmother, who revolutionized the agaseke basket in 1942 and established Rwanda’s first crafts cooperative in 1964<\/strong>.<\/div>\n
Her vision was simple yet powerful to use the art of basket weaving as a means of empowerment for women in rural Rwanda. Today, Irebe carries forward this dream, championing the incredible talent of over 1,489 weavers<\/strong> across 22 cooperatives<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

We are dedicated to preserving the soul of Rwandan tradition weaving techinics while blending it with modern aesthetics. With over 10,000 unique designs<\/strong> sold in Kigali and beyond, we have gained international acclaim. But more than that, we have touched the lives of more than 1075 weaver families across Rwanda.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every basket we create tells a story of culture, craftsmanship, and community. We are passionate about our eco-friendly practices and unwavering commitment to fair trade, ensuring that every piece not only enhances a space but also uplifts a life.<\/p>\n
