EXCLUSIVES

$266

In the hills of Rwanda, where craftsmanship is passed from one generation to the next, the creation of an exclusive basket begins with carefully selected natural materials. One of the most valued fibers used by artisans is Urumamfu, a traditional plant fiber known for its strength, flexibility, and natural beauty.

The preparation of Urumamfu requires time and skill. The fibers must be carefully harvested, dried, and prepared before weaving can begin. Skilled artisans then spend many hours hand-weaving each basket, paying close attention to every detail, pattern, and finish. This process requires patience, precision, and knowledge that has been passed down through generations.

Because of the quality of the material, the complexity of the work takes months required to complete each piece, these baskets are produced in very limited quantities. This is what makes them rare and valuable.

More than a decorative object, an Urumamfu basket represents Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage and the artistry of its craftsmen. Each piece is a unique work of art that reflects tradition, dedication, and timeless design.
